Montage Deer Valley on The New York Times Online

When the weather turns snowy, it’s every man and woman for themselves on the slopes. The New York Times recently did a round up on the efforts of ski resorts to pump up participation from the latter, including the new Pretty in Powder offering from Montage Deer Valley that finds women building camaraderie on the mountain under the enthusiastic eye of two-time Olympic freestyle skiing medalist Shannon Bahrke. “The offering,” noted the writer Elaine Glusac, “is geared to women, though any guest is invited to ski with Ms. Bahrke on Fridays from 1 to 2 p.m. at no additional cost.” “Wanted: More Women on the Slopes” ran online on December 1 and was schedule for print on December 6. The Times is a big hit, of course, with a VPM of 80,398,188 and circulation of 2,178,674.

 

Wilderness Safaris All Over the Place

Who doesn’t love to read about where the wild things are? Wilderness Safaris recently got a slew of coverage in top publications:

  • As a result of HIPR’s laser-like pitching efforts, Wilderness Safari’s Linkwasha Camp was included in Travel + Leisure’s “Best Places to Travel in 2016,” which reaches 8,147,488 readers. Highlighting Zimbabwe as a must-see destination, the piece includes info on the opening of a new terminal and beautiful wildlife, as well as on the Linkwasha Camp as among the best accommodations in the Hwange.
  • Wilderness Safaris looked right at home on the pages of the Winter 2015 issue of Luxury Magazine (circ: 50,000) where writer Paul Rubio’ “Romantic Escapes,” a photo-forward round up of seven “swoon-worthy destinations” where “romance extends far beyond candlelit dinners and rose petal-covered beds,” included details of the adventure travel operator’s North Island destination in the Seychelles.
  • As a result of HIPR sharing images with Photo Editor Allison Gumbel, Wilderness Safaris’ North Island was also featured quite prominently in the Wall Street Journal’s roundup of “The Best Private-Island Vacations for Every Budget – Even Yours!” The piece, by Christian L. Wright, ran online (VPM: 39,189,477) as well as on the front page of WSJ’s Saturday/Sunday print edition (circ: 2,294,093), with a stunning areal image of North Island stretching over more than half a page. The island was included under “For a Very Fancy Fisherman,” and given the size of the photo, it owned the piece.

 

Cyber Monday Speaks

Like a bride, we’re blushing over the Cyber Monday coverage we got for our clients. Brides online jumped all over our roundup of the day’s best offerings, featuring nothing but HIPR clients in “Black Friday and Cyber Monday Travel Sales Brides-to-Be Should Know About” by Faith Cummings.
